The Review (By Jack098):

Game Play: Game play of BME leaves something to be desired. The fighting and combat is the best in-game feature but the rest needs improvements, and drastic ones at that. The building of structures and buildings is almost non existant, just click on a build site, select the building and watch it grow. That is it. To earn cash (There are no different resources just money) all you have to do is build a farm if you are good, or a furnace/lumbermill etc if you are bad. You don't have to send people out to forage the just do it themselves. It is all to basic for my liking and the word strategy is almost non existant. Just build a camp, make an army, upgrade them, attack, win. Also the AI is really bad as the computer will just pile out small bands of non-upgraded units to be slaughtered by your expierienced troops

Graphics: The Graphics are nothing special but not at all bad. The small detail is superb and I especially like the shields. The graphics are similar to Age of Empires. There are no glitches so the graphics work well with other factors of the game.

Sound: Again average, good, but nothing special. There is nothing to make you say 'wow what great sound effects', apart from the occasional murmur from Gandalf of any peasants of orks.

Story: At first the missions are all very similar, build a camp, destroy the enemy but as you progress further through the story missions become more varied and interesting.

Multiplayer: The best thing about the game. You can play online 2 on 2 or up to 4 on 4 multiplayer. There are a lot of different game such as heroe quests etc.

Overall: 76% A game predicted to be game of the year turns out to be one of the dissapointments of the year but still a good game for LotR fans.
