The Review (By Spartan):
Ok, before I say anything, just three words: GET HALO 2!!!!!
Gameplay: The gameplay is very fluent and never "glitches" or "jolts" The AI is the best of any game
I have ever played, it is funny at times to listen to the opposing sides insulting each other while fighting. Each level loads
while playing a cutscene, which means no waiting around, you can get straight into the action. The controls are standard action/shoot'em
ups at default but can be customised as much as you like, but the default are very easy and quick to master even for
an inexperienced player so are not needed to be changed much. Gameplay is quite fast paced at times but enables you to use
a good variety of strategies from picking stragglers off with a sniper to getting right into the melee and beating down
masses of enemies.
Graphics: The graphic are mind blowing, and add a lot to the gameplay, there are a few minor glitches
although these have been addressed with an update from xbox live. However these glitches did not change the gameplay at all. Once again bungie do thier job and create stunning enviroments for the gameplay to take place in: from snow covered ruins to
large open areas ideal for large multiplayer battles. The graphics of the enviroments, creatures are incredible, take a look
here.
Sound: Ok, so where can I start? The graphics are one thing, but the sound!! The sound i amazing, probably
the best made part of Halo 2. Each of the weapons, vehicles, items has a unique sound that is highly realistic.
With different tunes to accompany each part of the campaign (each one suits the situation very well), listen to a sample here (this is a sample from Halo 1 but is used in Halo 2 as well). Also each character has a unique voice set (some
of your marines have American accents some English and some Australian ect.).
Story: The story is a continuation of Halo 1, it takes place in a massive variety of enviroments from Earth
to strange alien structures and even space! (zero gravity!). On some missions you get to play as an elite (the opposing
side) this adds another exiting aspect to the campaign. Although bungie could have done better this is still a great follow up of the halo story line. This is the only critisism
that I have with this game.
Multiplayer/Live Play: The multiplayer is excellent and is probably the best bit of the game, the maps
are really fun. (They kept in some old favourites and improved them, Blood Gulch, Battle Creek). The live play is, well,
it's the best live game I have ever played, you can just search for a gametype e.g. big team battle, head to head, team slayer. And
it will find one for you, or you can choose to host a game with your friends and choose the exact settings.
Overall: 90% Overall the game is unbeatable, difinitely the best game i have
ever played and is well worth the money. Buy It!!!!
